Nerds

I am watching Spy Next Door. I just saw the part where they throw the nerdy kid in a garbage can. It made me realize that movies always mess that up. In movies, people always pick on nerds and geeks. Didn't they ever go to school?

In real life, you're not mean to nerds. You're nice to them. 'Cause who else is gonna let you copy--I mean, who is gonna help you with your homework? That's the only reason people ever talked to me in middle school.

And furthermore, be nice to nerds. You'll probably work for one someday.

Short post, but it's 11:57 (technically, still my birthday) and I need to sleep.

Au revoir. Je m'en vais.

Random Note: I have just made another page for my OAFC stuff. The tab is at the top and I'll update it every now and then. I might possibly make more tabs/pages in the future.

Another note: I like nerds candy. I like chocolate better...now I'm hungry...

Truths Revealed

Now you can know the truth:

1) I went to Canada one year for a family vacation. We had no passports so we were stuck at the border for hours.

True. We had problem getting into Canada, but no problems getting back into the US...and we still had no passports.

2) I attended Space Camp a few years ago. I operated a flight simulator. I spent a full week there and I received an award for creating the most realistic model rocket.

I wish. Space Camp would be cool.

3) I went to Hooters (in Cleavland, Ohio) on my 10th birthday. My evil twin sister told them it was my birthday so I had to stand on a chair and shake my butt in front of everyone there. To this day, my family teases me whenever Ohio or Hooters is mentioned.

Unfortunately, this is 100% true. Except the part about my evil twin. My sister is not my twin, but people think we are twins. And I think she would be my evil twin if we really were twins.

4) At VBS I attached my sister's belt loops to the clips on the flagpole. I got her half way up when the pastor walked out of the church...

False. My dad did this to one of his brothers.

5) I have a younger sister and an older half sister. I did not know my older sister was my half sister until a year ago. Even now, I do not know who her real father is.

True. It's frustrating. And I don't want to bring up the topic with my parents...

6) I spent a week and a half in a 15 passenger van. 11 people (including me) were packed in the like sardines. I now miss being squeezed into that van.
True. I don't miss being cramped in the van so much

7) I know a ninja.

We called one of the people on my team a ninja. He would leave the room and no one would notice. Then he would come back, and no one saw him return. Technically, he is not a ninja, but we all think he is. So, true.

Also I watched how to train your dragon. I loved it! I loved the dragons! They looked like a kitten mixed with a lizard. They were so cute...except for the big evil one in the end. But I want one! :)

Random Note: two days till my birthday! (July 27)

I'm back from Nashville. :) It's very hot and humid there.

So I need to catch up on all the sparklife posts and blog posts...again... I just caught up from the 2 weeks I missed before, then I left for another week...

Is no one else gonna try to guess the truths and lies? I'll post the answers when I finish typing it.

I also got 2 more pictures from loony. I'll get those posted too. They are amazing as usual. :)

I think that's all for now.

Au revoir. Je m'en vais.

First Four Days

I recently went to summer training for OAFC. Since I attended a summer training before, I was eligible for travel team this year. I traveled across Indiana for 10 days. I left on June 15th and I got back on July 1st. So here is a day by day retelling of my trip.

June 15
My sister, my dad, and I went to Ampride and met Lucas at 8 in the morning. He is on the Nebraska OAFC group, so I've known him for a couple of years. We drove him up to summer training in Rochester, MN. By noon, we left the land of cows and corn (Iowa) and we were in Minnesota. We arrived an hour early and we didnt get lunch. I was about to find a 7th grader to munch on. We ate then had a youth rally. This year we had a series of competitions. We did a scavenger hunt and my team was the first to finish. Another competition was creative songwriting. OAFC really likes songs. We do thank you songs for the people who make us food. They are usually to the tune of other songs. The judge liked Journey, so we made a song to the tune of "Don't Stop Believing." We called it "Can't Stop Eating." The judge loved it. We ended up 2nd overall & we got Tootsie Pops.

June 16.
This was picture day. Most teams got into two lines and stood there for their pictures. We had several poses for my team picture. It looked pretty cool. Not much else happened.

June 17
My team switched with team 2 to help serve lunch because our host church had made the food. We ended up switching with them again because they had to out early to canvass. We served sandwiches for lunch and one of my friends was picking on me. (I met him two years ago at another summer training.) While I was serving food, he came over to where I was. He asked for a sandwich. I started giving him one but he said, "No! Not that one!" He then pointed to a different sandwich that he wanted. I started giving him that one, but the same thing happened again. After 4 sandwiches, someone behind him offered to take the sandwich I tried giving him. I gave it to them. He said, "But I wanted that one!" It was the sandwich he just refused... *eye roll* Typical teenage boy behavior.
This was also the night of the first bad weather. On the way back to our host home, there were a lot of storms ans some tornadoes touched down. 37 to be exact. In Rochester, a roof was blown off of a house. My little sister was staying in Rochester. By herself. She doesn't like storms. Needless to say, I was worried the whole night.

June 18
This was the day that we realized 11 of the people on our team could play guitar, or owned one. There is a grand total of 11 people on my team. That morning, we decided to take over the guitarists for the opening. The team that was supposed to do it was surprised. There are normally 4 guitarists...but there was 11 there...
This was our recreation night. A few people played volleyball. I do not like sports, and I have no hand-eye coordination...so I did not play volleyball. My sister was teaching guitar to someone, so I joined her. Then I waled around and got a bunch of pictures.

I only did 4 (out of 17) days. I'll post the rest later.
Au revoir.

PS I'll post the truths/lies answers when I get back. And I posted another scene.

Liar or Creative Writer?

Back on the 15th and 19th (a long time ago), I was nominated for an award. It has been going around for awhile. I think the original intent was about lying (hence the title "Bald Faced Liar") but it has been renamed as "Creative Writer." I shall take this as a compliment that I am a creative writer and not a liar.
Rules to get this award:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award. Thanks, Zella and Skys.
2. Copy and paste the logo on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you.
4. Tell up to 6 lies and a truth or vice-versa.
5. Nominate 7 creative writers,
6. Post the links to the blogs you nominate,
7. Leave a comment on each blog letting them know they won the award,

So here are my lies and truths.
  1. I went to Canada one year for a family vacation. We had no passports so we were stuck at the border for hours.
  2. I attended Space Camp a few years ago. I operated a flight simulator. I spent a full week there and I received an award for creating the most realistic model rocket.
  3. I went to Hooters (in Cleavland Ohio) on my 10th birthday. My evil twin sister told them it was my birthday so I had to stand on a chair and shake my butt in front of everyone there. To this day, my family teases me whenever Ohio is mentioned.
  4. At VBS I attached my sister's belt loops to the clips on the flagpole. I got her half way up when the pastor walked out of the church...
  5. I have a younger sister and an older half sister. I did not know my older sister was only my half sister until a year ago. Even now, I don't know who her real father is.
  6. I spent a week and a half in a 15 passenger van. 11 people (including me) were packed in there like sardines. I now miss being squeezed into that van.
  7. I know a ninja.
Can you guess which ones are true and which ones are not?

I am skipping 5, 6, and 7. If you want to do this on your blog, go ahead.

My next post will be about travel team. Hopefully I can get it posted before I leave again...

Guess What!

I'm back! For awhile... I just returned from summer training and travel team. I will be home for about a week then I am leaving again.

Here is what I plan to post before I leave again:
Perlita (gummy's character)
my strange tan lines
the people in my group
my host homes
my trip

I may or may not get these posted before I leave. My power cord is messed up, so I can't get on the computer much. :(

Au revoir for now.
