Vlog?

A lot of people have been doing vlogs lately. A lot of people have also been answering a list of questions about themselves. I was thinking of combining them & doing a vlog that answers the questions.

Does anyone have questions you want me to answer? As long as they aren't too personal or awkward, I'll answer any questions you ask.

If I do a vlog, I'll probably post it Monday or sometime next week.

Au revoir. Je m'en vais.

Swimming with a Nuclear Bomb

I swim. A lot. I have been on 6 different teams. I have been swimming for 10 years. I have been doing 4 swim teams per year of a couple of years. As I said, I swim a lot.

Unfortunately, I have not swam in a year. *dies from shock* This was because I was supposed to be moving. (I will write a blog about this later to explain the very long story) My dad told me and my sister that we could do swim team this summer. *jumps/squeals in joy*

My sister and I were some of the best people on the team. All of the good people left the team (graduating etc.). Our team now sucks. Apparently, another team suggested that my town quits competing against everyone else because we are so bad....The school had an announcement to get people to join. They are so desperate for members, they will accept anyone who can swim a lap and not drown. You don't even have to be able to swim.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In heritage, we are studying the Cold war and nuclear bombs (I know understand nuclear fission and fusion). If Russia would bomb the US, they would bomb Omaha, Nebraska. This is the location of the main office for the nuclear bomb in the US. I live a mere 60 miles from Omaha. My teacher told the class that if Omaha was bombed, everyone in my town would all die...very comforting...not.

On that happy note (sarcasm hand raised) I say "Au revoir. Je m'en vais."

Better to Remain Quiet...

My French class is very...strange...The teacher is very sarcastic & has good comebacks. There are two people in my class who are complete idiots. Yesterday in class, we were answering some questions about a "book" we are reading. Idiot #1 was talking in French with an Italian accent. Idiot #2 was making up answers that absolutely nothing to do with what we read. My teacher told them a Lincoln quote.

"It's better to remain quiet and appear stupid, than to open your mouth and reveal all doubt."

I don't think that's the exact wording he used, but it's the same basic idea. My dad has a shirt with the way I worded it. It took the idiots awhile to figure out what she meant.

Then later the same day, Idiot #2 started singing "Fireflies" by Owl City. A few other people joined in. My teacher said "Hush, hush, sweet children." Her translation of what that means is "Shut up, you little creeps."

I like this teacher, but she is retiring. We have a new teacher. He came in to class the other day. The current teacher decided to speak more French to show off or something. This was not pleasant for us students because we never speak French in class. I am literally the only person in my class who understands French....so anytime either teacher would say something in French, some one would turn around and ask what they said. Every. Single. Time.

I decided on a goodbye. "Goodbye, I'm outta here" in French.

*epic explosion* Au revoir. Je m'en vais.

Goodbye....no, I'm not leaving...

My second post in one day...Many other bloggers have a goodbye. I don't. I dont like just ending a blog without a goodbye. I googled some. Here are some possibilities for my goodbye. Which one do you like?

  1. Where's the good in goodbye?
  2. We only part to meet again.
  3. Happy trail to you until we meet again.
  4. The return makes one love the farewell.
  5. Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
  6. Every goodbye makes the next hello closer.
  7. It's all said and done. It's real. And it's been fun.
  8. Be well. Do good. And keep in touch.
  9. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
  10. I hate goodbyes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.
  11. Why does it take a minute to say hello & forever to say goodbye?
  12. But fate ordains that dearest friends must part.
These are a few I found on the internet. Which one is your favorite? Or do you like a different one?

New Blog

I have created another blog. This new blog is for my book I am writing. For any suggestions you have, you can go to my other blog by this link. The series will be called The Clairvoyant Council.

Suggestions that I would love are
  • Names. This includes interesting/cool names and interesting name meanings.
  • Plot. If there is something that you would love to see in a book, let me know.
  • Characters. If there is a certain type of character you like, let me know. What do they look like? What do they say? How do they act? etc. You can also come up with a new character if you want.
  • Sword fights. The main character fights with swords. I would like a good description of a sword fight, please.
  • Other books. If there is a certain book you like or dislike, tell me why. The same thing applies to characters.
So far on my new blog, I have only posted the prologue. Any suggestions are welcome. :)
I will be continuing this blog for non-book-related topics.

Final Personal Witness

This is my finalized version. I have emailed it in. Hope I get in. :) *crosses fingers*

My dad never missed a birthday. He went to all of my swim meets. He was always there. At least until he got a new job. This job was in another state. We have to drive six hours every weekend to see each other. Because of this, he missed my birthday. He missed my sister getting her permit. He missed our band concerts.

Since the only time I get to see my dad is weekends, I miss out on a lot of things. Instead of going out with friends, I stay at home to see my dad. Because of the move, my sister and I did not even go out for swim team. Our lives have changed a lot in the past year.

For the first time in my life, my family wasn’t whole. It made feel like I didn’t have a home. Eventually, my mom, sister, and I will move up with my dad again. The city we are moving to is huge. Even when we do move back together, it still won't feel like home for awhile.

In John 14:2-3, Jesus said, “In my Father’s house, there are many rooms. I am going there to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” This verse made me realize that I still have a home. Even though my family is separated, we will be together again.

In the verse right before, Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me.” This verse is a comfort to me. It lets me know that God has a plan for me and my family. I know that I can trust in Him. I can trust that He will get my family back together again and give us a new home.

Thanks to stargate_nerd92 Zellakate and Hannah for the ideas :D

New Personal Witness

I have added some to my personal witness. Tell me what you think :)

Personal Witness

Before you read this, this is a Christian topic. If you don't want to read it, don't. I've never been in a religious argument and I would like to keep it that way. It will not hurt my feelings if you don't want to read this.

I am in OAFC (Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ). This summer I am going to Summer Training in Minnesota for a week. Then I am going to join travel team which is another week after that. To be able to do travel team I have to write a Personal Witness, which is a little story that tells how God is in my life. It also has a Bible verse that relates to the topic. I have started one, but I have not gotten far. If you have any ideas on what to add I would love them. :)

This is what I have so far:

My dad recently got a new job. This job was in another state. We have to drive six hours every weekend to see each other. For the first time in my life, my family wasn’t whole. It made feel like I didn’t have a home. Eventually, my mom, sister, and I will move up with my dad again. The city we are moving to is huge. Even when we move back together, it still won't feel like home for awhile since we will be living in a new town. We will be moving from the small town area that I have always lived in.

In John 14:2-3, Jesus said, "In my Father's house, there are many rooms. I am going there to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am." This verse made me realize that I still have a home. Even though my family is separated, we will be together again.

That is as far as I've gotten. I need ideas on what to add and how to put it all together. Please and thank you :)

p.s. if you are interested in joining OAFC, that's awesome! You can find out more about OAFC at the website You can check to see if there is a group in an area near you (mainland US). If anyone is interested I can write a blog about it to explain better than the website.

7 Things

Lola tagged me. She said I had to choose 7 things that are not for me that I would buy if I had a million dollars. I can not have any of these for even a day.

1. Puppies and kitties for my little sister
2. Books for the library (does this one work if I check them out from the library?)
3. A new house for my parents
4. A new heart for my dad's friend
5. A giant swimming pool with multiple water slides for my sisters
6. Places for retirement for my grandparents
7. Donate to charities (does this count as buying something?)

You must list 7 random facts about Sparknotes.
(can be how you got your username, a funny conversation, anything)

Snickers

This is my puppy Snickers. We rescued her from the pound. They had kept her too long & were going to put her down. :(

We saved her life. :) She is a German Shepherd/Black Lab mix. She is about 11 years old, but she thinks she is still a little puppy.

She was laying down and I turned sideways to get a picture of her.

There is also a picture of my cat in another blog. We rescued him from under our porch. The neighbors had chased him under there.

I love my pets!

ACT, Hiking, Bumblebee, and a Piñata

Today I took the ACT. I had to be there at 7:45 in the morning! On a Saturday! The English test was the first one and it went fine. The next was math. I love math. It's my best subject. I think I did good on that one. After that was the reading test. I like reading, but that test sucked. I always finish at least 10 minutes early on every single standardized test I have taken. I finished 30 seconds before time was up. It has never taken me so long to do a test. Ever. By this time I was hungry. My stomach growled. Loudly. It was a quiet room... The last test was science. By this time I was starving. We finally finished testing. Could I go home and eat? No. We had to answer questions like "were you placed 3 feet away from others?" "were you directed to a specific seat?" etc. We finally finished that. We could finally leave. I had to call my parents to get a ride. I have had my permit for almost 3 years & should have gotten my licence a year ago, but I haven't taken drivers ed, so I am forced to wait for rides. I was waiting at the school. My little sister drove, so she took awhile to get there. I was about ready to resort to cannibalism on the little 7th graders there, when my mom & sister finally got there.

I'm just joking about the cannibalism (it's highly frowned upon in many societies). 7th graders were taking the ACT. Seriously!? Why do they need to take them? The little 7th graders survived. They left before I got too hungry.

Later today, there was an expo at the fairgrounds. There was a yellow camaro. Just like Bumblebee. It even had the racing stripes and a transformer/autobot symbol. We walked in & the first thing I said was "I like that yellow car." I later found out it was just like Bumblebee. I even got to break open a piñata. :) We stood there for an hour and a half.

We went back home & I sat down cause my legs were numb. Then my dad said, "Let's go for a walk around the lake." I had numb and painful legs, but I had to walk 2 miles. :( By that time a was dragging myself back to the car.

Then we got home & my dad made stake. I felt better the. (food seems to cheer me up...) Overall, my day was so-so. I couldn't feel my legs except when they were in pain. But I got to break open a piñata.

My Bad Day

This morning I had a bad day. My cat makes a noise before he throws up. I heard that noise when I first woke up. I picked him up to put him in the bathroom (it's easier to clean up in there). Right as I picked him up he threw up all over the floor. I had to clean it up.

Then I took my dog outside. I dropped the food dish. It was full, so the food went all over the floor. I had to pick all that up. (my sister was asleep through all of this)

I went to the back porch to get some cat food. There is a small (2 inch) ledge/rise from the porch to the kitchen. I tripped on it and scraped my knee. Luckily, I had sweat pants on. When I tripped, I hit the bottom of my foot on the corner of the ledge. It hurt to put any weight on that foot so I had to limp. (my sister was still asleep at this time. I thought I would have woken her up when I fell, but I didn't)

Then I had a handful of jelly beans. I walked outside to go to school. A dog started barking & scared me. I dropped those. The same thing happened with a piece of dark chocolate, but I caught that.

Then I had to go to school. Which is never fun. Actually, that was the end of my day. Almost. We had a mini-concert for the 5th and 7th graders to encourage them to go out for band. I had to cross the stage to get to my seat. I almost fell of the stage...only about a 5 foot drop but still, it would have hurt....and it would have been embarrassing.

Speaking of that ledge, at after-prom last year, there was a hypnotist. Some people volunteered to go up. During it, she made them think they were on mars. They were walking around on the stage & I guess they cant see when they are hypnotized. Someone went too far & fell off the stage. He didn't even "wake up." It was kinda funny that he just stood up and was completely unaffected.

But after school my sister got me cookies. And I didn't even ask for them. :) That made me happy. :) My day is better now.

Pictures

I couldn't think of anything to blog about so here are some pictures. This is my prom dress from last year. It's pink, strapless, and ties in the back. (this is me)

This is me and my sister. She is 15 months younger than me. People still think we are twins. She is on the right and I'm on the left.

This picture was taken at the aquarium in Mall of America. They have piranhas there that sparkle. and they had the cast of Finding Nemo. I like the waterfall in the background. :)

Yesterday I did a video call with my dad and the webcam wasn't attached to the computer. The screen on my side was blank. I said "The webcam isn't malfunctioning. We're ninjas." Eventually, we got it plugged back in. We are ninjas no more.

That's all for today.

April Fools Day & names

Today I went to the open thread for SparkLife. Feathery_Snidget told us she was leaving sparknotes. Apparently sgtpepper191 tried that earlier. I am so trusting, I fell for it.

My Spring Break started today. :D Yesterday, my principal made an announcement that we were going to have school today because we have had too many snow days. I fell for that one too.

To make the day worse, I have an eye doctor appointment today & I can't get my contacts in. :(

I started looking at names for characters in my book. Here a few of my favorites.
ASHERAH Perhaps derived from Semitic roots meaning "she who walks in the sea". This was the name of an ancient Israelite goddess
ORPHEUS Pronounced: OR-fee-əs (English) Perhaps related to Greek ορφνη (orphne) meaning "the darkness of night"
BALTHAZAR Hebrew form of the Akkadian name Bel-sarra-usur meaning "protect the king"
BASAJAUN Means "lord of the woods" from Basque baso "woods" and jaun "lord," the Old Man of the Woods
NEREIDA Pronounced: nay-RAY-dhah Derived from Greek Nereis meaning "nymph, sea sprite"\
AMARANTHA (Ama, Amara) From the name of the amaranth flower, which is derived from Greek meaning "unfading."
