College Stuff

I recently applied to a couple of colleges. That was December 13th. I was fairly certain that I would probably get in. I have pretty good grades--mostly As and a few Bs. But I failed a class. So I wasn't sure how that would affect my getting accepted. I applied online, and the site said that it would take 2-4 weeks for them to make a decision. I tried not to worry about it too much.

Yesterday I got some stuff from a couple different of schools. One of them was from one of the schools I applied to. My mom saw it and said I should open it. I'm thinking, Mom, it's been less than 2 weeks. It's the 24th. Don't worry about it.

But I opened anyways, just to please her. I figured it was no big deal. I had already gotten a ton of stuff from that school. Basically, the stuff I had gotten was just information about the school. Once I had the envelope open, I took out the papers. I started reading.

"Congratulations..." I wasn't sure what they were talking about. Congratulations for what? Then I continued reading. I got accepted! It was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a confirmation that they received my application. But I got accepted.

Even better?

I got a scholarship. $12,000 a year for 4 years. I checked online, and if I maintain a 3.1 GPA or higher, it increases by $500 each year (if I read it right). And we haven't even done the FAFSA yet. So I can get even more financial aid.

This school is my second choice, but I'm still happy. I got in. :)

Au revoir. Je m'en vais.

  3. wow, that's really really great! and with the FAFSA, you can probably cover most of your financial needs pretty well! :D I got into my third choice college, and it all worked out perfectly anyways, so there's no need to worry at all. :D
