Wow. 3 posts in one day.

Luke 3 John was living out in the wilderness and he received a message from God. He went to the Jordan River and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had turned from their sins. In chapter 40 of Isaiah, Isaiah said "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him.' "
Everyone was waiting for the Messiah and they all thought that John was the Messiah. When they asked him, he responded, "I baptize with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater then me--so much greater that i am nit worthy to untie his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."
One day while John was baptizing a crowd, Jesus was baptized. As he was praying, the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove and a voice from heaven said, "You are my Son, with whom I am pleased."
When Jesus was 30, he began his public ministry. The Bible then lists all of Jesus's heritage.

You can write the Sparknotes study guides for the Bible! :):):)
ReplyDelete@skys I wonder if they could do that. I could suggest it when I get back...and I've been meaning to read the whole Bible & this would make me read it...
ReplyDeleteit would be pretty awesome if you could. though I'm not sure how many schools (esp public schools that make up America) would actually study the Bible...or if Sparknotes supports this religion and stuff.
ReplyDeleteon the other hand, pretty much everyone in America HAS a Bible somewhere in their house, it IS a very common book, and it IS PROBABLY the most common book that is read the least. :P Having a Sparknotes for it would be great, if Sparknotes would allow it.
@skys when I get back I'll email them about it. I can do summaries, but I can't do analysis very well...
